Hollywood Sign Parking

A simple parking guide for the close-up Hollywood Sign viewing points around Lake Hollywood Park, Innsdale Trail, The Last House on Mulholland, and the Deronda View Platform.

The best days to visit are Monday through Thursday, when visitor parking is welcome, abundant and free.

Hollywood Sign Close-up Viewing Points

Lake Hollywood Park

Most popular close-up Hollywood Sign viewing area and the most accessible. Grassy picnic area with hydration station. Unrestricted multi-hour parking Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, throughout the adjacent neighborhood. Wide streets and easy parking.

Innsdale Trail

Hollywood Sign walking route and photo area near Lake Hollywood Park. Take the trail about 5 minutes to the Last House and Deronda vistas, and then to the back of the Sign or the Griffith Observatory. Abundant free parking Monday through Thursday.

The Last House on Mulholland

The closest public pedestrian viewpoint is in front of the property at 6101 Mulholland Hwy., but it's posted 'No Stopping' for vehicles here. Very limited nearby parking. Best to park at Innsdale, Mon/Tue/Wed/Thu.

Deronda View Platform

Well-known dirt platform popular with photographers. Enter Griffith Park through the gate at the end of Deronda Dr. Amazing city views. Begin trails to the back of the Sign or Observatory from here. Very limited parking. Park at Innsdale Trail, Monday through Thursday.

BEST TIME TO VISIT

Monday through Thursday

Visitor parking IS allowed. Parking is free and unrestricted Monday through Thursday. Visitor parking and multi-hour parking is plentiful Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Easiest parking is at the Lake Hollywood Estates and Innsdale Trail areas.

Visitor parking is NOT allowed on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Parking is restricted to resident permit holders only, on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. In the Lake Hollywood area, including the Innsdale Trail, visitor parking is also prohibited on Fridays.

Lake Hollywood / Innsdale Trail

This means - no permit required Monday through Thursday.

Parking is welcome. It's free, plentiful and permitted Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Hollywoodland

This means - no permit required Monday through Friday.

Parking is ok, but limited and generally more difficult compared to Lake Hollywood.

Visitor Note

Always read the posted street signs before parking. Campers, buses, trucks and trailers are NOT ALLOWED. Everyone Stay Away on Red Flag Days! (LAFD High Fire Alert). Parking rules can vary by block, day, and time. Be respectful of resident and emergency access. Enjoy your visit. And seriously, don't try to drive a camper or trailer up to any of the viewpoints.
